Netcool Proviso Training

Eirteic offer 2 weeklong courses for the Netcool Proviso product. The Operator course covers most aspects of normal product configuration from network discovery and data collection to report creation and deployment. The Administration and Installation course covers product administration from a command line and file-based point of view, and the ability to perform a product installation accompanied by an experienced instructor.

Objectives / Certifications

The Operator course is intended for users who will be responsible for day-to-day configuration tasks within the Proviso product, such as configuring data collection, reporting and end user access.

The Administration and Installation course is intended for product administrators and system integrators. At the end of both the Operator and Administration courses, there is a multiple choice certification test.

Daily Schedule

Operator course:
Day 1: Product Overview, Basic Configuration
Day 2: Network Inventory and Resource Management
Day 3: Calendar and Time Zone Configuration, Data Collection
Day 4: Reporter Deployment and Customisation
Day 5: Thresholding, Certification Test

Administration and Installation:
Day 1: Product Architecture, SNMP DataLoad, DataChannel
Day 2: Database, DataMart
Day 3: DataView, Periodic Operations and Trouble-shooting, Certification Test
Day 4 & 5: Installation Overview, Practical Product Installation

Prerequisites

• UNIX and scripting experience essential
• Knowledge of SQL and Database concepts beneficial
• Understaning of SNMP and Network/Service Management beneficial
